WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

Skills that become music.

Lessons combine technique, listening, reading and repertoire. Teachers adjust the balance to suit the student’s age, experience and musical goals.

01

Healthy technique

Posture, hand shape, finger control and coordination across the keyboard.

02

Read and listen

Staff notation, rhythm, sight-reading and a stronger musical ear.

03

Play with expression

Dynamics, articulation, phrasing and tone through varied repertoire.

04

Perform confidently

Preparation habits, memory, stage confidence and exam skills when appropriate.

A TYPICAL FIRST YEAR

One year, four clear stages.

This is a practical guide, not a fixed promise. Starting level, attendance, practice and individual readiness shape the exact pace.

Months 1–3

Start strong

Keyboard geography, pulse, simple notation and short pieces with secure hand position.

Months 4–6

Build fluency

Scales and patterns, two-hand coordination, sight-reading and contrasting pieces.

Months 7–9

Make it musical

Musical detail, aural skills, technical work and a growing personal repertoire.

Months 10–12

Share and progress

Polish selected pieces, perform for others and review readiness for a suitable grade.

EXAM PATHWAY

Progress with purpose.

We use current official syllabus information to guide exam preparation. The teacher recommends a board, grade and timeline after understanding the student’s level, goals and learning pace.
