WHAT STUDENTS LEARN

Skills that become music.

Lessons combine technique, listening, reading and repertoire. Teachers adjust the balance to suit the student’s age, experience and musical goals.

01

Technique first

Grip, rebound, posture and efficient movement around the kit.

02

Groove and time

Rock and pop beats, subdivisions, tempo control and playing with a click.

03

Fills and coordination

Four-limb independence, transitions, dynamics and musical fills.

04

Play the song

Listen to form, support other musicians and perform with backing tracks.

A TYPICAL FIRST YEAR

One year, four clear stages.

This is a practical guide, not a fixed promise. Starting level, attendance, practice and individual readiness shape the exact pace.

Months 1–3

Start strong

Kit setup, basic strokes, quarter and eighth-note grooves and safe practice.

Months 4–6

Build fluency

Coordination, common rock and pop patterns, fills and tempo control.

Months 7–9

Make it musical

Dynamics, song structure, stylistic grooves and technical exercises.

Months 10–12

Share and progress

Record or perform complete songs and assess Trinity Rock & Pop readiness.

EXAM PATHWAY

Progress with purpose.
